Guidelines for submitting manuscripts
The manuscript must be in an electronic format: delivered on CD, DVD, diskette or by e-mail. The Work must be in a commonly readable format: E.g. Text file, Microsoft Word, Word Perfect, Quark, PageMaker, InDesign etc., and should be delivered as a single file, not individual chapters. If your document is in a non standard format please check with us first. If the manuscript is available only in paper form we can convert it into electronic format, but this would incur an additional service fee, please ask. The content should already have been edited and proofed and be ready for layout and formatting. The accuracy of the text remains the full responsibility of the Author. We can also offer a full range of editing services. If you need this please let us know and we will make you a very competitive quote linked to your layout. If there are photographs, drawings, illustrations or extracts of any copyrighted works contained within the manuscript it is the responsibility of the Author to ensure that copyright permission has been obtained prior to publication. If your document contains photographs, illustrations, tables etc., these should be provided as separate files and not embedded in the manuscript. The manuscript should have a reference in the text showing the location of any of these additional items. Note: We recommend that you make sure to always keep a backup copy of your files in a safe place before sending copies to us. We cannot be liable for lost manuscripts or defective disks. Guidelines for submitting graphics If you want to insert graphics in your book, including photos, tables, charts, diagrams, etc., please follow the guidelines below. All interior graphics (including photos, tables, charts, diagrams, drawings, foreign fonts, and anything else that is not text or would be considered a graphic) should be submitted as individual TIFF (.tif) files. The manuscript should identify placeholders for each of the interior graphics. The additional graphics fee is £3.00 per image insertion within the manuscript. All illustrations are produced in black and white or greyscale. If you need colour this would incur additional processing and print cost. Please ask for specific details. Text Revisions (Block of 50 changes)
Our standard practice is to deliver one electronic proof before we create the printed proof. You can make up to 50 corrections for no additional cost after you have examined each of these proofs. It is essential that you list these corrections on the Corrections Form that we will provide to you so that the changes can be made correctly. Any errors produced by the layout process are not included in the 50 corrections and will be fixed at no cost. This would include errors such as hyphenation errors, formatting issues or misplaced graphics. These should also be noted on the corrections sheet.Remember to carefully review each page of your proofs for any formatting or typographical errors. The proofing process is designed to give you the final say about your book’s appearance by allowing you to rectify any remaining problems or errors. If you wish to make further proofreading corrections after the initial free 50, there is a charge of £40 for every subsequent group of 50 changes. Cover
